Cupid’s stock had surged to record highs above ₹520 in recent months, fuelled by optimism around growth prospects and positive business updates. The sharp run-up pushed the stock into overbought territory, making it vulnerable to a correction once selling began.

The decline intensified after Cupid was placed under the Additional Surveillance Measures (ASM) framework by stock exchanges. Stocks under ASM face stricter margin requirements and closer monitoring, which typically discourages speculative trading and reduces liquidity.
