In a major update on the Rourkela charter aircraft crash, IndiaOne Air has stated that the investigation report into the incident will be submitted within one month. The crash claimed the life of one passenger, raising serious concerns and prompting swift action from the airline.
As part of its relief measures, IndiaOne Air announced support for the bereaved family. One family member of the deceased will be offered a job with the airline, while the company will bear household and related expenses for the next five months to provide immediate financial relief.
The damaged aircraft is expected to be lifted within the next two to three days and will then be shifted to Bhubaneswar for detailed technical examination as part of the probe.
Sharing the details, IndiaOne Air CEO Prem Kumar Garg said the airline is standing firmly with the victim’s family. He added that insurance procedures will begin soon and assured that the company will take responsibility for the family’s expenses during this difficult period. He also acknowledged the support extended by the Odisha government and Chief Minister following the incident.
The deceased passenger, Sushant Biswal, who had sustained critical injuries in the crash, died on January 17 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The accident occurred on January 10 near Jalda A Block in the Raghunathpali area, shortly after the nine-seater aircraft took off from Bhubaneswar for Rourkela.
The mishap left six people injured, including two pilots. Initial reports suggest the aircraft had flown nearly 10 kilometres before crashing. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
