Protests erupt in Kendrapara following suspension of BJD MLA Arvind Mohapatra.

The supporters of the MLA claimed that Arvind was organising various political programmes with all the party workers and he was never involved in any kind of anti-party activities.

Supporters of BJD MLA Arvind Mohapatra staged protests in the Derabish area of Patkura constituency in Kendrapara district on Sunday, following his suspension from the party. They alleged a conspiracy behind the suspension and demanded that BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik reconsider the decision.

Protesters claimed Arvind had been actively organising political programmes and was never involved in anti-party activities. Senior BJD leader Atanu Sabyasachi, along with his brother Shantanu Nayak and Madhumati Agrawal, was accused by party workers of distributing money to influence voters against Arvind—a complaint they said had been suppressed.

Former Kendrapara District BJD General Secretary Mahendra Singh asserted that Arvind was suspended on false allegations, highlighting his developmental work in Patkura over the past year and a half. Meanwhile, Kendrapara district BJD president Shiva Prasad Bhol maintained that the party supremo’s decision was based on reports of alleged anti-party activities and denied any internal opposition to Arvind within the constituency.
