In Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, a man named Ashutosh, allegedly with the help of his three brothers, killed his wife, Lata Devi, over a long-standing property dispute and dismembered her body.

According to police, the accused used a sharp-edged weapon to murder Lata Devi, severing her body into two parts. The head was reportedly hidden inside a drum, while the torso was left on a cot inside the house. Authorities recovered both parts, shocking locals with the brutality of the crime.

Family members said the couple had been married for 25–26 years and had ongoing disagreements over property. The victim’s father and brother claimed Ashutosh was a simple man, allegedly dragged into the conspiracy by his brothers. The murder reportedly took place on the night of January 12.

Speaking to reporters, Lata Devi’s brother, Sanjeev Dixit, said all four brothers were involved in the crime, strangling her before cutting her body into two pieces. Another relative, Upendra Pratap, added that her throat had been slit and that Ashutosh’s brothers assisted in holding her down during the attack.
