Probe Intensified in IRS Officer Rape Case in Bhubaneswar, Additional DCP Assigned

Police have intensified the investigation into the alleged rape case involving an IRS officer in Bhubaneswar, with an Additional DCP leading the probe. Fresh statements, digital evidence, and parallel inquiries are currently underway.

The investigation into the alleged rape case involving an officer of the Indian Revenue Service in Bhubaneswar has been stepped up, with Additional DCP Aarti Giri appointed as the investigating officer. She reached Saheed Nagar Police Station to review documents and assess the progress of the case.

In addition, a three-member team from Central GST also visited the police station and began its own inquiry into the matter. Police sources said the complainant’s statement has been recorded again, and investigators have collected photo and video evidence allegedly used to blackmail her.

The woman alleged that the accused raped her at his government residence and recorded the act, later threatening to circulate the video. She also claimed that she was assaulted multiple times under similar threats before approaching police.

Authorities have conducted a medical examination of the complainant and inspected the accused officer’s residence. Officials stated that digital evidence, witness statements, and other materials are being examined as the investigation continues.
