Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visit Malaysia from February 7–8, 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Malaysia on February 7–8, 2026, at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. This will be Modi’s third visit to Malaysia and his first after India and Malaysia upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in August 2024. The visit will focus on strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, defence, technology, and people-to-people ties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to pay an official visit to Malaysia from February 7 to 8, 2026, following an invitation from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. This marks Modi’s third visit to the country and his first since India and Malaysia elevated their bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in August 2024.

During the visit, both leaders will hold detailed bilateral talks covering a wide range of issues, including trade and investment, defence and security, maritime cooperation, digital and financial technology, energy, healthcare, education, culture, and tourism. Prime Minister Modi will also engage with the Indian diaspora in Malaysia and interact with business and industry leaders. The 10th India–Malaysia CEO Forum will be held alongside the visit.

India and Malaysia share deep historical, cultural, and civilisational ties, strengthened further by a large Indian community of about 2.9 million people living in Malaysia. The visit aims to deepen cooperation, enhance people-to-people connections, and set a future roadmap for mutually beneficial relations.
