Power and Patience Are Not Permanent: DK Suresh Amid Leadership Row

DK Suresh said that power does not come easily and that his brother could become chief minister if it is destined. He added that the post requires patience and cannot be achieved quickly.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is patiently awaiting the Congress high command’s decision on the leadership issue in Karnataka, his brother and former MP DK Suresh confirmed. Suresh described Shivakumar as a disciplined party leader, committed to unity and the interests of all 140 legislators, while highlighting that the post of Chief Minister requires patience and cannot be achieved easily.

Suresh stated that senior leader Rahul Gandhi has assured that an appropriate decision will be taken at the right time. He also emphasized the importance of party unity ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections and noted that Shivakumar’s supporters will have to wait until the upcoming legislative session before any final decision. Suresh underlined that Shivakumar’s loyalty and adherence to party discipline remain unwavering, and that caste-based politics should not override development-focused governance.
