Paresh Rawal has reassured fans that Hera Pheri 3, the long-awaited sequel to the iconic comedy franchise, will definitely be made despite current delays. In a recent interview on The Lavari Show, Rawal clarified that the postponement is not due to his involvement, but arises from unresolved technical issues between Akshay Kumar and the film’s producers.
Addressing circulating rumours of legal disputes, Rawal dismissed them as exaggerated, saying, “All this that had blown up in between that Akshay Kumar has sued me for Rs 25 crore, that is all okay yaa, it’s like kachva chaap agarbatti.” He confirmed that he is ready to sign on once the production matters are resolved.
Rawal also highlighted the importance of his beloved character, Baburao, noting that excluding him would risk the comedic essence and cultural appeal of the franchise. “Even at the cost of modesty, if they’re doing Hera Pheri without Babu Rao, it will be a disaster,” he said.
The Hera Pheri series, which began with the original film inspired by the Malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking, and followed by Phir Hera Pheri (2006), remains one of India’s most quoted and loved comedies. Fans can look forward to the continuation of the misadventures of Raju, Shyam, and Baburao, with Paresh Rawal assuring that the project is moving ahead once production hurdles are cleared.
