The first phase of Odisha’s state-wide census will commence on April 16, focusing on house and household asset enumeration. Census officials will conduct door-to-door visits, asking up to 33 questions about residents, family members, housing details, materials used, room usage, drinking water and electricity access, sanitation facilities, cooking fuel, and LPG connections. Additionally, households will provide information on ownership of electronic gadgets, vehicles, staple food preferences, and contact details.
This census phase is part of the Census of India 2027 and aims to ensure accurate data collection for planning and development.
