A shocking allegation has surfaced from Bhadrak district, Odisha, where a grandmother has accused her son and daughter-in-law of selling their one-month-old daughter for Rs 20,000. She filed a complaint at the local police station, prompting an immediate investigation.
According to the complaint by Savitri Das, her son Sipu Das and daughter-in-law took the infant out in the morning, claiming it was for a hospital visit, but returned home without the baby. When questioned, the couple allegedly became aggressive, argued violently, and even attempted to assault the grandmother.
Arup Abhishek Behera, Additional SP of Bhadrak, confirmed that a preliminary investigation is underway in coordination with the Childline team and other relevant authorities. Police from Bhandaripokhari station visited Bayabanapur village and have begun questioning the accused and other witnesses to ascertain the facts.
The incident has raised serious concerns in the local community, highlighting issues of family trust and child safety, while authorities work to uncover the truth behind the disturbing claims.
