Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday outlined a 15-point action plan for the newly appointed Chief Secretary, Anu Garg, with a strong emphasis on transparency, accountability, and people-focused governance.
The directives form part of the state government’s broader vision to achieve“Odisha Vision 2036–2047,”which aims to transform the state into a developed and economically strong region with a target of becoming aUSD 500 billion economyby 2036.
Among the major instructions, the Chief Minister directed the administration to ensure all vacant government posts are filled within the next two years. He also stressed the need for strict action against inefficient, corrupt, or non-performing officials to improve service delivery and restore public trust.
To enhance administrative responsiveness, all government departments have been instructed to communicate officially in the Odia language and strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms. Officers at every level—from the Secretariat to blocks and tehsils—have been asked to actively engage with citizens, including through digital platforms and social media.
The Chief Minister further emphasised regular monitoring of development projects and time-bound implementation of policy decisions, particularly those related to infrastructure development and public welfare schemes.
District Collectors have been directed to fast-track key administrative processes, ensure timely execution of government projects, and closely monitor service delivery at the grassroots level.
Additionally, the government plans to prioritise recruitment to fill long-pending vacancies, ensuring adequate manpower across departments for effective governance.
By assigning clear responsibilities and measurable goals, the state government aims to strengthen administrative efficiency, improve service delivery, and accelerate Odisha’s journey towards inclusive and sustainable development.
