Several trains, including the Vaishali Express, Shaheed Express, and Tata–Chhapra Express, were delayed at Samastipur railway station on Saturday due to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s visit to attend the 102nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpoori Thakur at Karpuri Gram.
To ensure the uninterrupted movement of the CM’s convoy, the district administration directed that the railway gate near the station should remain open. This led to a disruption in train services along the Samastipur–Muzaffarpur rail section, with some trains delayed for over an hour.
Officials deployed police personnel and made repeated announcements to keep the gate open. Train operations resumed only after the CM returned from the ceremony, causing temporary inconvenience to passengers at multiple stations.
