Married Woman, Family Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Man Over Blackmail in Ballia

A married woman and her relatives allegedly strangled a man in Ballia after he blackmailed her over ending their affair. The accused disfigured the victim with acid to conceal his identity; three have been arrested, while two remain absconding.

In a shocking incident in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, a man was allegedly murdered by a married woman with whom he was in a relationship, along with her brother and sister-in-law. The victim, identified as Pankaj Gupta from Azamgarh, reportedly blackmailed the woman after she tried to end their affair.

Police investigation revealed that the trio lured Gupta to their village on February 7 under a pretext, strangled him to death, and attempted to destroy evidence by disfiguring his face with acid. The mutilated body was later found on February 10, prompting a detailed investigation that uncovered the motive and sequence of events.

Ballia Superintendent of Police Om Veer Singh stated that three of the five accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody, while police continue raids to apprehend the remaining suspects. Officials confirmed that the crime was a result of repeated harassment and blackmail by the victim, and the family of the accused took action to stop the harassment.
