The much-awaited Bollywood superhero sequel Krrish 4 has reportedly hit a roadblock after budget negotiations between actor-director Hrithik Roshan and producer Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films failed to reach a consensus. According to a report by trade portal Sacnilk, discussions have stalled despite strong public anticipation for the franchise’s return.
Hrithik Roshan, who was set to make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, is believed to have envisioned the film on an expansive scale, with a projected budget nearing Rs 500 crore. However, Aditya Chopra, who has been actively restructuring production costs across Yash Raj Films, reportedly proposed a budget cap of Rs 350 crore to keep the project commercially viable.
The significant gap in budget expectations has led to multiple rounds of unsuccessful discussions, ultimately pushing the project to the backburner. As a result, Krrish 4 is no longer expected to go on floors in 2026 as originally planned, with revised production timelines yet to be finalised.
Amid the delay, Hrithik Roshan is said to be reassessing the script based on recent feedback and evaluating alternative creative and production options. Reports also suggest that the actor-director is exploring collaborations with other major studios that may be open to supporting his large-scale vision for the superhero film.
Meanwhile, Hrithik is expected to move ahead with another acting project. He has reportedly reviewed several scripts and is close to finalising his next film, with an official announcement expected soon. His most recent release, War 2, failed to perform as expected at the box office, making his upcoming career decisions especially crucial.
For now, the future of Krrish 4 remains uncertain, leaving fans waiting for updates on the return of one of Bollywood’s most iconic superhero franchises.
