Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar has weighed in on the public attention surrounding the joint appearance of Vijay and Trisha Krishnan at a recent wedding reception in Chennai. The appearance generated widespread discussion on social media and in the media, particularly as it came shortly after reports that Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, had filed for divorce alleging an extra-marital affair with a female actor.
During an interview with IANS, Khushbu said that the personal lives of celebrities should not be turned into public debates unless they directly affect others. She questioned why the public was making the issue a major topic of discussion, stressing that individuals should be allowed to manage their private lives without constant scrutiny.
The wedding reception appearance saw Vijay and Trisha posing for photographs with the bride and groom, which quickly caught the attention of fans and media outlets. The moment sparked speculation about their relationship, further fuelling online discussions.
Khushbu also expressed confidence that the controversy would not affect Vijay’s popularity or political future, especially with elections approaching in Tamil Nadu. According to her, voters are capable of separating a public figure’s professional responsibilities from their personal life.
She added that despite being a political leader, Vijay remains a human being whose private matters should not be judged by the public unless they directly impact society.
