Kannada actor and filmmaker Mayur Patel was reportedly involved in a late-night drink-and-drive incident in Bengaluru that resulted in a multi-car collision. The accident occurred around 10 pm on Old Airport Road near the Commando Hospital signal, where Patel, allegedly driving a Fortuner SUV, rammed into a car waiting at a traffic signal.
The impact reportedly led to a chain reaction, damaging at least four other vehicles, including two Swift Dzire cars and a government vehicle. Eyewitnesses claimed that an argument broke out between the actor and one of the affected vehicle owners shortly after the collision.
Halasuru Traffic Police arrived at the scene and conducted a breathalyser test on Mayur Patel, which reportedly returned positive. Based on complaints filed by the victims, police seized the actor’s vehicle and registered a case at the Halasuru Traffic Police Station. Authorities have confirmed that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Mayur Patel, who entered the Kannada film industry in the early 2000s, gained recognition with his performance in the 2003 filmMani. He has since appeared in several notable films, includingLove Story,Gunna,Slum Muniya,Rajeeva, andPepe. In 2014, he also participated inBigg Boss Kannada Season 2, further boosting his public profile.
