Harry Styles is set to take on the role of curator and performer for the 2026 Meltdown Festival in London, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the Southbank Centre. The festival, recognised as the world’s longest-running artist-curated music event, runs from June 11 to June 21 and has historically featured iconic curators such as Robert Smith, Grace Jones, and Nile Rodgers.
Styles, who is curating Meltdown for the first time, is expected to craft a diverse lineup that reflects his wide-ranging musical influences, including pop, soul, electronic, rock, and underground music, while also supporting emerging British talent. In a statement, he said, “I’m deeply honoured to curate the Meltdown festival, especially for the Southbank Centre’s 75th anniversary year. My goal as the curator is to share the music and art that I love, and to celebrate the rich history of the venue.”
The Southbank Centre, a hub for London’s arts and culture scene, also hosts major events like the London Film Festival and the BAFTA Film Awards. Styles expressed his excitement about contributing to the venue’s legacy, noting its role in bringing people together through music for 75 years. His appointment follows a series of headline-making performances, including a record-breaking series at Wembley Stadium and the overwhelming presale demand for his Madison Square Garden shows, where over 11 million fans applied for tickets.
With Styles at the helm, the 2026 Meltdown Festival promises a dynamic and eclectic celebration of music, art, and culture, cementing his influence not only as a performer but also as a curator shaping London’s musical landscape.
