The fourth instalment of financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana will be released on Sunday, bringing financial support to more than 1 crore women across Odisha.
Deputy Chief MinisterPravati Parida announced that over 1 crore 2 lakh women beneficiaries will receive the assistance in this phase. The government will transfer more than Rs 5,000 crore directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer system.
The Deputy CM further informed that around 2.13 lakh new beneficiaries have been added to the scheme this time. Additionally, about 36,385 applicants who approached authorities through grievance redressal mechanisms have also been included.
The disbursement programme will take place at Talabania in Puri in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The event will coincide with celebrations marking International Women's Day, during which the Women and Child Development department will also present awards for outstanding work in the sector.
According to the government, the beneficiary list of the Subhadra scheme is dynamic and will continue to be updated regularly. Women who turn 21 years of age will be newly included under the programme, while those crossing the age of 60 will be moved to pension schemes under other social welfare programmes.
The Subhadra Yojana aims to strengthen the financial independence of women by providing direct financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries across the state, helping improve household financial stability and empowering women economically.
