Class 2 Student Killed After Blackboard and Wall Collapse at Private School in Jalore

A six-year-old girl died after a makeshift blackboard and wall collapsed on her during lunch break at a private school in Rajasthan’s Jalore district. Authorities have ordered an investigation amid serious concerns over unsafe school infrastructure.

In a tragic incident, a six-year-old Class 2 student lost her life after a makeshift blackboard and supporting wall collapsed inside a private school in Rajasthan’s Jalore district.

The victim, Preeti, was playing during lunch break at Marudhar Shikshan Sansthan when the fibre-and-cement brick blackboard structure suddenly collapsed, trapping her under the debris. She was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead due to severe head injuries.

Preliminary investigation has raised serious concerns about poor construction quality and negligence. Locals said the school operated from temporary classrooms made of cement bricks, bamboo poles, and tarpaulin sheets.

District authorities have launched an official probe, and the education department has formed a committee to investigate safety violations. Action will be taken against the school management if found guilty.

The incident has once again highlighted the ongoing risks posed by unsafe school infrastructure in rural areas, despite previous accidents and safety inspections.
