A tragic fire accident at a pharmaceutical company in Telangana claimed the life of a 35-year-old chemist on Saturday. The incident took place at the premises of VJ Sai Pharma Company located in Dothigudem village of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
The deceased has been identified as Dhar Pawan, who was working as a chemist at the facility. According to initial reports, the accident occurred while chemical drums were being loaded into a reactor as part of the manufacturing process.
During the loading operation, a sudden chemical reaction triggered an explosion in one of the drums, leading to a massive fire. Pawan was caught in the flames and suffered severe burn injuries. Despite the efforts made after the incident, he succumbed to his injuries.
Police and fire department officials rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information and brought the situation under control. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to check whether proper safety protocols were followed.
The incident has raised concerns about industrial safety measures in pharmaceutical manufacturing units in the region.
