The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Mathematics board exam for 2026 is set for today. Students, parents, and schools are advised to rely solely on official communications and avoid rumours to ensure a smooth examination experience.

Entry, Timings, and Rules

Students should arrive at the exam centre on time. Doors usually open 45 minutes before the exam, and candidates must be seated well before the scheduled start. Entry is not allowed after 10:00 am. Special provisions, including extra time, are available for PwD candidates to maintain fairness and order during the exam.

What to Carry

Candidates should prepare the following essentials the night before:

• Printed admit card

• Valid school ID

• Transparent pouch

• Blue or royal blue pens

• Pencils, eraser, and sharpener

• Geometry box (compass, ruler, divider, protractor)

• Transparent water bottle

• Simple analogue watch (if permitted)

• Small bottle of hand sanitiser

Carrying spares helps avoid borrowing and ensures minimal disruption during the test.

Items Not Allowed

Prohibited items include mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, earphones, notes, papers, programmable pens, wallets, handbags, or bulky pouches. Possession of these items, even if unused, can lead to disqualification.

Last-Minute Exam Tips

• Read the full question paper calmly before starting

• Attempt easier questions first to build confidence

• Write stepwise solutions for maximum marks

• Recheck calculations in the last 15 minutes

• Avoid overwriting and strike neatly when correcting

• Keep rough work organised

• Manage time by sections rather than individual questions

• Stay composed if a question is unfamiliar, as accuracy is more important than attempting every question

Following these rules and strategies can help students maintain focus, reduce stress, and maximize performance in their CBSE Mathematics exam.
