The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a revised examination schedule for theCTET February 2026 session, extending the test to two days instead of one. The examination, earlier scheduled for February 8, will now be conducted onFebruary 7 and February 8, 2026, following a significant increase in the number of registered candidates.
According to the official CBSE notification, the decision aims to ensure better crowd management, smoother logistics and the efficient conduct of the examination across the country. The CTET will be held intwo shifts per day, coveringboth Paper I and Paper II, and will take place across140 exam cities nationwide.
On both days,Paper IIwill be conducted in the morning shift from9:30 am to 12:00 noon, followed byPaper Iin the afternoon shift from2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Each paper will be oftwo hours and 30 minutes duration.
Candidates are advised to carefully check their admit cards for details regarding exam date, paper, shift timing, and reporting instructions. CBSE has also directed candidates to reach their exam centres at leastone hour before the exam begins, as entry will not be permitted after the start time.
CTET is a mandatory eligibility examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers forClasses I to VIIIin government and government-aided schools. The exam is conducted by CBSE on behalf of theMinistry of Education.
