The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 10 Social Science board examination for the academic session 2025–26 on March 7, 2026. The exam was held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM across multiple centres in India, with thousands of students appearing for the paper as part of the nationwide board exams.

The Social Science question paper covered the four major components of the syllabus—History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics. The theory paper carried a total of 80 marks and included a mix of question types such as multiple-choice questions (MCQs), short-answer questions, long-answer questions, and case-study-based questions. A map-based section was also included, testing students’ ability to identify important locations and concepts from the syllabus.

According to early exam analysis, the paper followed CBSE’s competency-based approach, focusing on conceptual understanding rather than rote learning. Many teachers and students described the overall difficulty level as easy to moderate, though a few case-study and application-based questions required careful reading and analytical thinking.

Experts noted that most questions were closely aligned with NCERT textbooks and the prescribed CBSE syllabus, making the exam manageable for students who had prepared thoroughly from official study materials and previous-year papers. Balanced coverage across the four subjects ensured that key topics from each section were represented in the question paper.

Following the exam, the full question paper and set-wise PDFs have been released online to help students review the questions, analyse the exam pattern, and compare their responses with upcoming answer keys. Reviewing the question paper allows students to estimate their scores and understand the types of questions likely to appear in future board exams.
