Bhadrak Changes School Timings Amid Intense Cold Wave in Odisha

In response to the ongoing cold wave sweeping across Odisha, the Bhadrak district administration has altered school timings to safeguard students’ health and well-being. An official order issued by the District Collector states that all schools in Bhadrak—government, aided, and private, from Class I to XII—will function from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays instead of the usual early morning schedule.

The revised hours will be in effect from January 10 to February 14. The move aims to prevent students from exposure to extremely low morning temperatures, especially as the state continues to record sharp drops in minimum temperatures accompanied by cold winds and fog.

IMD forecasts suggest that the cold wave will persist for at least two more weeks. District authorities have instructed all schools to strictly follow the updated timings and ensure students do not arrive during the coldest hours of the day.
