Linkin Park Makes Historic India Debut in Bengaluru with Cultural Tribute

American rock band Linkin Park performed in India for the first time in Bengaluru, drawing nearly 40,000 fans. Lead vocalist Emily Armstrong wore a traditional Assamese gamusa during the concert, sparking widespread social media attention and praise for the band’s cultural respect.

Linkin Park thrilled Indian fans with their highly anticipated debut concert in Bengaluru on Friday at Brigade Innovation Gardens, performing to an audience of nearly 40,000. As part of their ‘From Zero’ World Tour, the band delivered a dynamic setlist blending nostalgia and new material, including hits like Faint, In The End, and Numb.

New lead vocalist Emily Armstrong drew attention when she donned a traditional Assamese gamusa, a token of respect and cultural heritage, while performing Faint. This gesture, alongside wearing an Indian cricket jersey later in the show, was celebrated online as a mark of cultural appreciation.

Fans praised Armstrong’s performance, acknowledging her skill and the band’s effort to connect with Indian audiences. Co-founder Mike Shinoda addressed the crowd, expressing excitement for the long-awaited Indian debut and applauding Bengaluru for setting a high bar for Lollapalooza India 2026, where the band will next perform in Mumbai on January 25.

The Bengaluru show marked a milestone for Indian fans, who waited decades to see Linkin Park live. The band reunited in 2024 with Armstrong as the lead vocalist, following the passing of former frontman Chester Bennington in 2017.
