Air India announced the cancellation of multiple international flights scheduled for March 1, 2026, citing heightened security concerns in the Middle East. The decision follows escalating regional tensions after a joint US-Israeli military operation against Iran, which led to the closure of key Middle Eastern airspace corridors critical for long-haul travel.

Flights connecting Delhi, Mumbai, and Amritsar to major global destinations such as London (Heathrow and Gatwick), New York (JFK and Newark), Chicago, Toronto, Frankfurt, and Paris have been affected. The airline stated that the move was taken after continuous monitoring of the evolving situation and prioritises the safety of passengers and crew.

Air India confirmed it is contacting impacted passengers to offer rescheduling options, refunds, or alternative travel arrangements. Earlier, the airline had also suspended all flights to Middle Eastern destinations until further notice, stating that services would resume only after a comprehensive security review. The carrier said it will continue assessing the situation and provide timely updates.
