Actor Emraan Hashmi has responded to the massive online buzz surrounding his surprise cameo in The Ba***ds of Bollywood, clarifying that the sudden virality has not changed anything for him.
Emraan’s brief appearance as an intimacy co-ordinator in the show quickly went viral, with fans praising his quirky performance and screen presence. However, the actor says he remains largely unaffected by the attention.
Speaking to Galatta India, Emraan said the reaction took him by surprise.
“Nothing has changed for me. It was just two days of work and suddenly it blew up. I still don’t fully understand virality these days,” he said.
The actor explained that over the years, he has consciously chosen to detach himself from both success and failure.
“I don’t take success, failure or virality too seriously. I learnt a long time ago that nothing is really in your control. All you can do is work with complete dedication and grow as an actor,” Emraan added.
His remarks resonated with many fans, especially in an era where short appearances often trigger disproportionate online reactions.
On the work front, Emraan is preparing for his upcoming streaming series Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, a crime thriller set against the backdrop of international smuggling networks.
The series follows a specialised customs task force operating out of Mumbai International Airport, one of India’s busiest transit hubs. Emraan plays Arjun Meena, an honest and relentless officer leading operations against a global smuggling syndicate.
The cast also includes Amruta Khanvilkar, Nandish Singh Sandhu, Anurag Sinha, and Sharad Kelkar, who plays the antagonist Bada Chaudhary.
