Actor Bhumi Pednekar has voiced strong concern and emotional distress following reports of a six-year-old girl allegedly being sexually assaulted in Delhi. The case, which reportedly involves three underage boys, has raised serious questions about child safety, social conditioning, and the failure to prevent sexual violence.

Reacting through an Instagram story, Pednekar described the incident as heartbreaking and alarming, stressing that the persistence of such crimes reflects deep-rooted societal failures. She questioned why fear of consequences has not been instilled in those who commit acts of sexual violence and highlighted the urgent need for accountability and reform.

The actor also pointed out what she described as misplaced priorities, noting that public discourse often sensationalises unrelated issues while ignoring the fact that children continue to remain unsafe. Pednekar emphasised that incidents involving minors as both victims and alleged perpetrators underline the importance of early education, awareness, and responsible environments.

Delhi Police have confirmed that the incident is under investigation, with legal proceedings currently underway. Authorities have not disclosed further details due to the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of minors.

By speaking out, Bhumi Pednekar has drawn attention to the broader implications of crimes against children and stressed the urgency of collective responsibility to protect the most vulnerable members of society.

On the professional front, Pednekar is set to appear in the upcoming Hindi crime thriller seriesDaldal, where she portrays a senior police officer investigating violent crimes.
