A video circulating on social media has triggered widespread outrage after it appeared to show an Indian exhibitor being verbally targeted over religious identity at a business exhibition in Riyadh. The undated clip, which has not been independently verified, shows a Saudi individual confronting staff at an Indian company’s stall and mocking the firm for having “not even one Muslim.”
The controversy gained momentum after UAE-based political analyst Amjad Taha shared the video on X, condemning the remarks as “blatant racism.” Taha defended India’s civilisational heritage and stated that business spaces should not be used for religious profiling or faith-based attacks.
Social media users strongly criticised the incident, calling it racist and sectarian, and questioned the suitability of Saudi Arabia as a destination for inclusive business and investment. Some users urged the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to raise the matter with Saudi authorities.
The identities of the individuals involved and the organisers of the exhibition have not been officially confirmed. It is also unclear whether any formal complaint has been filed or if authorities have responded to the incident.
