A murder case was reported near College Chhak in Puri on Saturday morning, creating concern among local residents. The victim, identified as Tuku, a native of Jaleswar in Balasore district, was found with multiple injuries on his abdomen and other parts of the body. The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Puri Town Police Station.
Upon receiving information, the Puri Superintendent of Police and Town Police personnel rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim suffered fatal injuries, though the exact circumstances surrounding the attack are yet to be determined.
Police officials stated that the deceased had been working as a helper at a hotel near SCS College for the past month and was staying on the hotel premises. Investigators are examining whether the murder was the result of an internal dispute, personal enmity, or other factors.
Addressing the media, Puri SP Prateek Singh said Town Police received an early morning alert about an injured person lying and bleeding near the SCS College area. The victim was immediately shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A murder case has been registered, and CCTV footage from nearby locations is being reviewed to trace the sequence of events and identify those involved.
No arrests have been made so far, and the assailant’s identity remains unknown. Police have assured that further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
