10 Army Personnel Killed, 7 Injured as Vehicle Falls into Gorge in Bhaderwah, J&K

A bulletproof Army vehicle carrying 17 personnel plunged into a 200-foot gorge in Bhaderwah, Doda district, killing 10 and injuring 7. Rescue teams swiftly airlifted the injured for medical treatment.

In a tragic accident in Bhaderwah, Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, ten Army personnel lost their lives while seven others were injured after a bulletproof Army vehicle fell into a nearly 200-foot-deep gorge. The incident occurred on Thursday when the vehicle, carrying 17 personnel to a high-altitude post, skidded off the mountainous road near Khani Top.

The Army immediately launched search and rescue operations in the challenging terrain. Injured personnel were given first aid on-site and airlifted to Udhampur for specialized medical care, while recovery efforts continued at the accident location.

This incident follows a similar tragedy in Baramulla on January 8, when two Army porters and a jawan died after falling into a deep gorge en route to Anita Post in the Gulmarg sector. These accidents underscore the extreme risks faced by Army personnel while operating in high-altitude and remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Rescue teams remain deployed as investigations and safety assessments are ongoing.
