Two Trainees Found Dead at Sports Authority of India Hostel in Kerala

Around 5 am, hostel authorities at the Sports Authority of India in Kerala checked the girls’ room after the trainees failed to report for training. When calls went unanswered, staff entered the room and found both trainees hanging from ceiling fans.

Two trainees were found dead on Thursday at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) hostel in Kollam, Kerala. The victims have been identified as Sandra, 17, from Kozhikode, and Vyshnavi, 15, from Thiruvananthapuram.

The bodies were discovered around 5 am when hostel authorities checked the girls’ room after they failed to report for training. Repeated attempts to contact them went unanswered, prompting staff to enter the room, where both were found hanging from ceiling fans.

Police said fellow trainees had seen the girls together late the previous night. Sandra was pursuing athletics while studying in Class 12, and Vyshnavi, a kabaddi player, was a Class 10 student who had chosen to stay in Sandra’s room that night instead of her usual room.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the deaths. No suicide note was found, and the cause remains unknown. Post-mortem procedures are underway, after which the bodies will be returned to their families.
