A ₹12-Crore Ancestral TreasureValued at around ₹12 crore, the mansion stands on land originally owned by Shetty’s great-granduncle. Visitors are greeted by brass-studded Burma teak doors and a hand-pulled temple bell at the entrance. At the heart of the home is a 300-kg granite Tulsi katta, bathed in sunlight from an atrium that features four carefully curated corners displaying personal treasures: Yakshagana headgear, a cricket bat signed by Yuvraj Singh, and the iconic rifle prop fromKantara.
The northeast corner holds a particularly unique feature: standing barefoot on a specific black stone for seven seconds triggers the Bhoota Kola chant from the film — a playful ritual Shetty reportedly enjoys demonstrating to guests.
A Home Made for CinemaThe mansion includes a private screening room designed for a true cinematic experience. Italian leather recliners face a 150-inch retractable screen with Dolby Atmos sound, illuminated by a chandelier crafted from reclaimed Mangalorean tiles. The projector, affectionately named Seleyaraya after the forest deity inKantara, oversees every screening.
Thoughtful Details and Modern SecurityThe kitchen features black stone counters polished with homemade coconut oil, complementing the family’s Sunday Kori Gassi ritual. Upstairs, a loft houses over 1,200 books ranging from folklore to Stephen King novels. Security is meticulous, with facial-recognition cameras and Yasksha, a retired coastal police dog.
Phones are stored in brass lockers, and the WiFi password — inspired by aKantaradialogue — changes monthly. Roof tiles are numbered for monsoon checks, and a dedicated “Rain Room” allows Shetty to write while enjoying the sound of thunder outside.
