ActorRanbir Kapoorhas finally put to rest the speculation around the name of his lifestyle brandARKS, clarifying that it isnot inspired by his wife Alia Bhatt or daughter Raha Kapoor.
In a recently shared video on ARKS’ official Instagram and YouTube channels, Kapoor gave fans a tour of the brand’s manufacturing facility and answered questions about the label’s origin and future plans. The actor revealed that the facility earlier belonged to his brother-in-lawBharat Sahni.
Addressing the curiosity around the brand name, Kapoor said ARKS initially had multiple interpretations. “We started with sneakers, and it was meant to be a Ranbir Kapoor shoe. There were ideas like Ranbir Kapoor Studios. Eventually, I realised it didn’t need a literal meaning. When we heard the name ARKS and saw the logo, everything just came together,” he explained.
Kapoor also spoke about how personal growth influenced the brand’s philosophy. He noted that as he grows older, his attraction to material excess has reduced, inspiring ARKS to focus ontimeless, everyday essentials. “You always need a good t-shirt or a denim jacket—things you can wear anytime. Under ARKS, we want to sell a sensibility, an aesthetic, a lifestyle,” he said.
Looking ahead, Kapoor shared plans to expand ARKS beyond clothing intoathleisure, underwear, and even furniture, positioning it as a full-fledged lifestyle brand. The current ARKS men’s collection includes cotton jersey t-shirts, French terry sweatshirts, knitted hoodies, polo shirts, flat-knit tees, and linen shirts.
The brand’s launch campaign featured a cinematic video of Kapoor lying under the night sky, with the caption:“Meet the founder. He’s not on social media.”The campaign received warm support from his family—Alia Bhatt commented“To new beginnings”, whileNeetu Kapoorwrote“Good luck.”
