Prime Video’s Bandwaale: A Musical Journey of Dreams, Friendship, and Self-Discovery

Bandwaale, a musical dramedy, follows Mariam and her friends in Ratlam as they chase their dreams through music and poetry. The Prime Original series premieres on February 13 worldwide.

Prime Video’s upcoming musical dramedy Bandwaale promises a heartfelt exploration of friendship, dreams, and self-discovery. Set in the small town of Ratlam, the series follows Mariam, played by Shalini Pandey, a young poet who begins sharing her work anonymously online while navigating questions of identity, freedom, and belonging. Alongside her friends Robo and DJ Psycho, Mariam embarks on a journey of creativity, humour, and ambition, using music and poetry as a medium to rise above the limitations of everyday life.

The recently released trailer highlights the trio’s close bond, their unwavering passion for creativity, and the belief that talent and determination can shape their futures. Music is central to the storytelling, featuring original compositions by Yashraj Mukhate — his first long-form series as a composer — complemented by the evocative poetry of Kausar Munir, which adds emotional depth to the narrative.

Created and written by Ankur Tewari and Swanand Kirkire, and directed by Akshat Verma and Ankur Tewari, the series is produced by OML Entertainment. The ensemble cast also includes Zahan Kapoor, Swanand Kirkire, Sanjana Dipu, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Anupama Kumar, each contributing to the vibrant world of Ratlam. Bandwaale will premiere on Prime Video on February 13, available across India and in over 240 countries and territories worldwide, offering audiences a compelling blend of music, laughter, and life lessons.
