Adam Milne Ruled Out of T20 World Cup 2026; Kyle Jamieson Named as Replacement

New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2026 due to a hamstring injury, with Kyle Jamieson named as his replacement. Jamieson, already with the Black Caps in India, is expected to strengthen their pace attack ahead of the tournament.

New Zealand have confirmed a late change to their T20 World Cup 2026 squad after fast bowler Adam Milne suffered a torn left hamstring during the SA20 league for Sunrisers Eastern Cape, ruling him out of the global tournament. Head coach Rob Walter expressed disappointment over losing the senior seamer, highlighting Milne’s preparations and form leading up to the event. Kyle Jamieson, initially a travelling reserve, has been added to the main squad and is currently in India with the team. Having recovered from previous injuries, Jamieson has performed well in the ongoing white-ball series against India, including a two-wicket haul in the first T20I at Nagpur. His inclusion adds depth to New Zealand’s bowling line-up as they prepare for their Group D campaign alongside South Africa, Afghanistan, UAE, and Canada, beginning February 8 against Afghanistan at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
