The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched an innovative Artificial Intelligence-powered application callede Magic Boxto enhance early childhood education in India. Designed for children aged three to eight years, the platform aims to make foundational learning more accessible, engaging, and responsive to everyday questions from caregivers and educators.
The e Magic Box is more than just a learning app — it is a complete digital ecosystem that integrates stories, songs, activities, and real-time interactive support through intelligent AI companions. The initiative focuses on strengthening foundational literacy, communication skills, creativity, and positive behavioral development during the crucial early years of a child’s growth.
The platform features three AI-powered bots:
Katha Sakhi– Generates imaginative stories and creative content to spark curiosity and nurture young minds.
Parent Tara– Assists parents by answering parenting-related questions and guiding them on supporting child development at home.
Teacher Tara– Supports educators with classroom strategies and interactive teaching suggestions.
Users can type questions directly into the app and receive instant AI-generated responses, making learning dynamic and conversation-based rather than textbook-dependent.
To ensure inclusivity, NCERT has made the platform accessible through multiple channels:

Even families without smartphones can access features like “Story of the Day,” “Song of the Day,” and “Question of the Day” through IVRS services.
Alongside the app launch, NCERT introduced the “Kingdom of Learning and Learning” campaign to encourage families and educators to actively engage with children through conversation and interactive exploration.
The e Magic Box app is free to use and serves as a public educational resource aimed at building strong foundational skills during early childhood.
