Two separate but strikingly similar incidents from different parts of India have drawn attention after young men fought back against attacking Leopard and managed to kill the predators in desperate acts of self-defence.

The incidents occurred in Odisha and Himachal Pradesh, highlighting the dangers faced by people living near forest areas and the growing issue of human-wildlife conflict.

Shimla Incident: Teen Kills Leopard With Stones

In Solan district near Shimla, an 18-year-old ITI student named Parvesh Sharma survived a terrifying leopard attack early in the morning.

According to reports, the teenager was heading out to fetch milk when the three-year-old leopard suddenly pounced on him just a short distance from his home.

Instead of panicking, the teenager reacted quickly and tried to protect his neck from the animal’s jaws while struggling with the predator.

During the fight, he reportedly grabbed stones and rocks lying nearby and repeatedly struck the animal on the head until it died. Despite the dangerous encounter, the young man managed to survive.

The incident attracted widespread attention due to the youngster’s presence of mind and courage in the face of a life-threatening attack.

Odisha Incident: Villager Fights Back

A similar encounter was reported recently from Odisha, where a leopard reportedly entered a village and attacked a resident.

During the violent clash, the villager defended himself and fought back against the animal. In the struggle that followed, the leopard eventually died.

Forest officials later reached the spot to examine the situation and investigate the circumstances surrounding the animal’s death.

Growing Human-Wildlife Conflict

Wildlife experts say such incidents are rare but highlight the increasing conflicts between humans and wild animals.

Leopards sometimes enter villages located close to forest areas while searching for food or due to shrinking natural habitats caused by human expansion.

Authorities usually advise residents to avoid confronting wild animals and inform forest officials immediately. However, sudden attacks sometimes leave victims with no option but to defend themselves.
