Manoj Tiwary Criticises Political Interference Behind Bangladesh T20 World Cup Boycott

Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary condemned the political interference behind Bangladesh’s decision to skip the T20 World Cup in India. He highlighted that the players are the ones suffering the most, losing a rare opportunity to showcase their talent on the global stage.

Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary has strongly criticised the political interference surrounding Bangladesh’s stance on the T20 World Cup, stating that the players are paying the heaviest price. Speaking to ANI, Tiwary said the decision to boycott the tournament in India has deprived Bangladeshi cricketers of a once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform on the world stage.

Tiwary emphasised that the issue has become a political matter dictated by the Bangladesh Sports Ministry, leaving players powerless as their careers and ambitions are affected. He questioned why the Bangladesh Cricket Board appeared to have little say in the final call and warned that political influence in sport could have long-term repercussions. Bangladesh confirmed it would not participate despite ICC warnings and rejected requests to relocate matches, potentially risking expulsion and complicating qualification for future tournaments.
