French President Emmanuel Macron praised India’s growing influence in global innovation during the India–France Innovation Forum held in Mumbai. He highlighted how Indian-origin leaders are heading some of the world’s biggest technology companies, including Alphabet, Microsoft, IBM, Adobe, and Palo Alto Networks.
Macron also drew special attention to Chanel’s CEO, noting that the leader of the iconic French luxury brand comes from Kolhapur, the same state where the event was held. His remark highlighted Maharashtra’s contribution to global leadership and innovation.
The event was attended by Narendra Modi and S. Jaishankar, who welcomed the strengthening ties between the two nations.
India and France also upgraded their relationship to a special global strategic partnership, aiming to expand cooperation in defence, trade, innovation, and critical minerals. Both leaders described their partnership as important for global stability.
