Delhi-NCR Experiences Light Rain, Very Poor Air Quality, and Fog-Related Train Delays

Delhi and the wider NCR saw light rain overnight, while the Air Quality Index (AQI) remained in the ‘very poor’ category. Forecasts predict scattered rain due to Western Disturbances and a rise in minimum temperatures. Fog continues to affect northern India, causing delays to multiple trains.

Parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced light rainfall overnight as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts scattered rain from February 1 to February 3 due to back-to-back Western Disturbances. Delhi’s AQI remains ‘very poor’ at 324, with Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad recording similarly high pollution levels.

Minimum temperatures in northwest India are expected to rise by 3–5°C, while day temperatures may fall by 2–4°C. Fog in northern India has caused delays for at least 15 trains, including the New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani and Duronto Express.
