Prime MinisterNarendra Modiis personally overseeing the progress of15 high-priority development projectsinJammu and Kashmir, with a combined investment of approximatelyтВ╣1.12 lakh crore, Union Territory Chief SecretaryAtal Dulloosaid on Monday. These projects are being closely monitored through thePRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation)platform, a digital mechanism designed to fast-track major infrastructure and development initiatives across the country.
According to Dulloo, the Prime Minister’s direct involvement has significantly improved coordination among various departments and agencies, helping to remove long-standing bottlenecks that often delay large-scale projects. He noted that issues related toland acquisition,financial approvals, andphysical constraints on the groundare now being addressed more swiftly due to regular reviews and real-time decision-making.
The Chief Secretary added that the close monitoring has also ensuredtimely and fair compensationfor families affected by land acquisition, helping build trust among local communities and preventing project disruptions. Officials believe this approach has accelerated implementation while maintaining transparency and accountability.
The projects under review span critical sectors such asinfrastructure, power, connectivity, and public services, all aimed at boosting economic growth and improving living standards in the Union Territory. The PRAGATI platform allows the Prime Minister to interact directly with senior officials, set deadlines, and ensure that corrective steps are taken without delay.
Dulloo emphasised that this high-level oversight reflects the Centre’s strong commitment tofast-paced development and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring that flagship projects are completed on schedule and deliver tangible benefits to the people of the region.
