According to Hurun India's latest list for 2025, Jayshree Ullal, President and CEO of Arista Networks, has taken the top spot among Indian-origin leaders globally.

When people think of the richest Indian-origin CEOs in global technology, names like Google’s Sundar Pichai or Microsoft’s Satya Nadella usually come to mind.

That picture has now changed. As per the latest Hurun India Rich List 2025, Jayshree Ullal has quietly moved ahead of both these well-known leaders to become the wealthiest Indian-origin executive in the world.

According to Hurun India’s latest list for 2025, Jayshree Ullal, President and CEO of Arista Networks, has taken the top spot among Indian-origin leaders globally. With this ranking, Ullal has overtaken Sundar Pichai of Google and Satya Nadella of Microsoft in terms of personal wealth.

Hurun India said Ullal now leads the list of Indian-origin executives in the technology space, based on her net worth and long-term value creation. This marks a rare shift, as most public attention in recent years has remained on CEOs leading consumer-facing tech giants.

WHO IS JAYSHREE ULLAL

Jayshree Ullal is an Indian-origin, British-born business leader who has been running Arista Networks for the past 17 years.

She is currently based in Santa Clara, California, where the company is headquartered. Arista Networks works in cloud networking and designs high-speed switches and software used by large data centres, cloud service providers, and enterprise offices.

Earlier in 2025, the 63-year-old Ullal was ranked second among the top five first-generation women wealth creators in the Candere Hurun India Women Leaders List. Her rise has largely stayed away from the spotlight, even as Arista grew into one of the most important firms supporting cloud and AI infrastructure.

A key reason behind Ullal’s growing wealth is her stake in Arista Networks. She owns close to 3% of the company’s shares, which are listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The value of these shares has risen sharply since 2020, helped by strong demand for cloud services, data centres, and artificial intelligence-related infrastructure.

Arista Networks has benefited from the rapid growth in AI and cloud computing. Large technology firms and enterprises need faster and more reliable networks to run AI workloads, and Arista’s products play a critical role in this space. While consumer-facing tech companies often see sharp ups and downs, Arista’s steady business model has supported long-term growth.

This has allowed Jayshree Ullal to build wealth quietly, without the public attention that usually follows leaders of large consumer brands. Her rise to the top of the Hurun India Rich List 2025 reflects how back-end technology leaders are now creating as much, or even more, value than some of the most visible names in global tech.
