Mystery deepened in Odisha’s Bolangir district after a youth and his minor friend went missing for the past three days. The missing youth has been identified as Akash Bag, a resident of ITI Colony in Bolangir town. The incident came to light after Akash allegedly spoke with a minor girl from the locality last Saturday, following which he was reportedly threatened by the girl’s family.
Since then, both Akash and the minor girl have remained untraceable. The recovery of Akash’s slippers on Monday from different locations has further raised concerns and suspicion. Akash’s father, Sheshadev Bag, has alleged foul play and accused the minor girl’s family of possible involvement, expressing fear that his son may have been murdered.
In an emotional appeal, Sheshadev urged police to trace his son and determine whether he is alive or dead, claiming that earlier threats may be linked to the disappearance. Meanwhile, the minor girl’s family has also lodged a missing complaint, stating that their daughter is yet to be traced.
Bolangir Sadar and Lakshmijore police stations are jointly probing the case. Police officials have not yet issued an official statement on the allegations, and further investigation is underway.
