13-year-old boy flees home in Jagatsinghpur after mother’s scolding

A 13-year-old boy from Mathasahi village under Rahama in Kujang block of Jagatsinghpur district has been missing for the past five days after he reportedly fled away from his home after being scolded by his mother.

A 13-year-old boy, Adarsh Behera, from Mathasahi village under Rahama in Kujang block of Jagatsinghpur district has been missing for five days after reportedly running away from home following a scolding from his mother. Despite extensive search efforts by family members and villagers, there has been no sign of the minor so far.

Adarsh, the younger son of Umakanta and Dipanjali Behera, left home suddenly, taking his bicycle with him. His mother, Dipanjali, recounted that a small argument over Rs 200 preceded his disappearance and emphasized that she did not physically harm him. Initially, she thought he had gone to watch a local match, but when he did not return, the family began searching and subsequently informed the authorities.

Since his disappearance, Adarsh’s mother has been anxiously waiting at home, praying and holding his school belongings in distress. The family has been deeply affected, reportedly not lighting the hearth or cooking for the past week due to worry and grief.

A formal missing person case has been registered, and Tirtol Police are actively investigating the matter, coordinating search efforts to trace Adarsh and ensure his safe return. The village remains concerned as the anxious wait continues.
